Interiors finished to the last two percent.
Walls, ceilings and trim across Grayslake and Lake County — prepped properly, painted precisely, and walked through together before we call it done.
Wall & ceiling painting
Flawless walls, ceilings and facades — the finish everyone sees.
The heart of what we do: smooth, even walls and ceilings with cut lines so clean you'll run your hand along them. We prime where it matters, roll in consistent passes, and back-check every surface in raking light before a room is finished. Low- and zero-VOC options are available on request.
What's included
- Washing, filling and sanding every surface before paint
- Spot-priming stains, patches and bare drywall
- Two even finish coats, back-rolled for consistency
- Crisp cut lines where walls meet ceilings and trim
- Furniture moved, covered and floors protected daily

- Do I have to move everything myself?
- No. We move and cover furniture, mask floors and fixtures, and put each room back at the end of the day. You just clear personal items and valuables.
Color matching & consultation
Get the color right the first time — with help choosing it.
Not sure which white — or how a color reads at 4 p.m. versus noon? We bring samples to your walls, talk through undertones and sheen, and match existing paint when you only need to touch up. The goal is a color you'll still love a year from now.
What's included
- On-site samples brushed onto your actual walls
- Undertone and sheen guidance for each room's light
- Existing-color matching for touch-ups and additions

Drywall & plaster repair
Cracks, holes and water damage patched so smooth they disappear.
Cracks, nail pops, water stains and holes get patched, taped and sanded until the repair disappears under paint. On older Grayslake and Lake County homes we re-skim tired plaster so the wall reads flat and true. Prep like this is invisible when it's done right — which is exactly the point.
What's included
- Filling nail pops, hairline cracks and screw holes
- Patching holes from mounts, fixtures and old hardware
- Taping and re-skimming cracked or water-stained plaster
- Dust-controlled sanding and spot-priming before paint

- Can you match the texture on my existing walls?
- Yes. We feather and texture-match every patch to the wall around it, smooth or lightly textured, so the repair reads seamless once painted.
- Is repair billed separately from painting?
- No surprises. Repairs are folded into your painting estimate as prep, so you get one number up front rather than a change order mid-job.
Homeowners notice the details.
“Mike removed wallpaper and painted my guest bath, replaced drywall and painted my kitchen. Very meticulous with wall prep. Showed up on time, cleaned to a broom-clean standard, reasonable price.”
“Mike is great to work with — he just finished the outside eaves with stain, and previously did our entire interior after a renovation. Hardworking and neat. We'd have him back anytime without hesitation!”
“Really great experience. Mike is excellent with communication, expectations and timeliness. Very fair, up-front pricing. Diligent work and the finished product is fantastic. We'll use him again soon.”
Wood trim & window frames
Hand-cut lines on baseboards, casings and sashes.
Baseboards, casings, crown and window sashes are where sloppy work shows first. We fill, caulk and sand, then lay down a hand-brushed finish with crisp lines against the wall. Doors and built-ins get the same patient treatment.
What's included
- Filling, caulking and sanding trim before finishing
- Hand-brushed baseboards, casings, crown and sashes
- Crisp lines where trim meets wall and glass
- Doors and built-ins finished to match

- Can you paint stained or varnished trim white?
- Yes. We clean, de-gloss and bond-prime existing stained trim so a painted finish adheres and won't peel at the edges.
Wallpaper removal
Old paper stripped and walls prepped for a clean new start.
Old paper — and the adhesive behind it — comes off in full, not left as a fight for your next painter. We score, steam and strip, then wash and skim the wall back to a paint-ready surface. What you're left with is a clean start, not a lumpy compromise.
What's included
- Scoring, steaming and stripping paper in full
- Removing old adhesive, not painting over it
- Washing and skimming walls back to smooth
- Priming the paint-ready surface before color

- My walls have several layers — is that a problem?
- No. We've stripped homes with multiple layers of paper and paint, working down to a sound surface and skimming any damage flat.
- Will removal damage the wall underneath?
- Some scuffing of plaster or drywall is normal; we repair and skim it as part of the job, so you're left with a clean, paintable wall.
Caulking & interior sealing
Tight, weatherproof seals that keep the finish looking new.
Tight, flexible caulk lines seal gaps at trim, corners and transitions so the finish looks built-in — and stays that way through the seasons. We remove failed old caulk rather than paint over it. It's a small detail that quietly holds everything together.
What's included
- Removing failed caulk rather than painting over it
- Fresh flexible lines at trim, corners and transitions
- Sealed gaps so the finish looks built-in and lasts

Before we start your interior.
Yes — every estimate is free and in-home, with no obligation. Send a few details through the contact form and Mike will follow up within one business day to schedule a visit.
A single room is typically one to two days; a whole-interior repaint runs a week or more depending on prep and trim work. You'll get a clear timeline with your written estimate.
Premium, name-brand interior paints chosen for the room and finish you want. Low- and zero-VOC options are available on request — helpful for bedrooms, nurseries and homes with pets.
Not necessarily. Many clients hand off a key and go about their week. We treat your home with care, clean up daily, and walk the finished work through with you together at the end.
